Dr. Kertesz and Dr. Varley discuss Understanding Suicides after Prescription Opioids are Stopped: The CSI:OPIOIDs Research Study with the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome Association (RSDSA). You can view the presentation on FaceBook and YouTube here. Both investigators are behind the world’s only study to directly examine suicides that happen after prescription opioid reduction or stoppage. Their presentation introduces why this study needs to be done, how it is being done, and how people from the pain and RSDSA communities could join the effort.
Suicidal thoughts and medical assisted suicide research. Most recent when another pain clinic closer to me, would not accept me as a patient.
Looking again so my 3hr drive to current clinic can be stopped.
On lowest amount of pain medicine since 06/2001.
Genetic disease. No endplates on discs. Underdeveloped per neurosurgeon this past September.
Trying to hold on but hope is diminishing…all my Dr’s know!
Hello and thank you for putting up a comment. Our study doesn’t directly offer medical advice, but all of us sharing in this work feel a level of serious concern about the response to complex pain problems in the US at this time and we really are motivated to do this work in part by stories like yours. – CSI OPIOIDs team
Post laminectomy syndrome.
C2-T3. Caused pain increase above and below it.
Can FEEL the metal stabbing, millions of bees stinging and electric fire. Sacrum is very bad and bumpy since pain meds lowered in August. Can’t believe how much worse the pain is now!!!!
