The CSI:OPIOIDs research team was put together to give this study the strongest potential for success. It includes people with pain, advocates for people with pain, and people with important clinical and scientific expertise.

Our website presents individuals who meet regularly with the investigative team as “Investigators” and those who we consult for advice as “Advisors“. A number of scientific experts working inside the US Department of Veterans Affairs are not shown on the team pages but are helping to advise us. These include Stephanie Gamble, PhD and Ajay Manhapra, MD. 

It’s important to know that any products resulting from our team’s work represents our independent evaluation of the data we obtain. The CSI:OPIOIDs study does not present formal views or positions taken by the University of Alabama at Birmingham or the US Department of Veterans Affairs, or any of the institutions where our investigators and advisors work.
